THE COFFEE

Bob-O-Link MIRIM, BRAZIL

"This coffee comes from the Bob-O-Link collective that unites around 50 farmers and focuses on using integrated farming methods that place a focus on the environment and humankind.

THE STORY

Bob-o-link is a unique sustainable coffee project initiated by the FAF (Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza). The project aims at changing not only the way coffee is produced but also more generally the lifestyles of an entire community.
As the specialty coffee industry has grown, the largest beans have become the most sought after. Yet the big beans present under 50% of the production. This project within a project focuses on enhancing the quality and sellability of the smaller size beans to help farmers reach the full profitability of their farm. Hence the name "MIRIM" that means small in an indigenous Brazilian language Tupi Guarani", one of the more than 150 languages of Brazilian indigenous people."

TRANSPARENCY &SUSTAINABILITY

Bob-o-link Mirim beans represent the smaller screens from the family-focused production collective all working with sustainable practices. The goal is to sell these coffees for 60% of the price of the higher screens. In this way, the project provides economically sustainable opportunities to all parties in the supply chain.
